Move for Moyes would mean “change in direction by Newcastle”

David Moyes is the man most likely to jump into the Newcastle United hotseat according to the bookmakers but does he fit the profile of a prospective Magpies boss?
That’s the question we posed to top pundit Chris Kamara following recent speculation.
“If Newcastle get David Moyes then it’ll have to be because Mike Ashley has had a change of heart” Kammy said.
“He’ll have to decide that he’s going to take a back seat and give the manager space to work in if that’s going to come off.”
Moyes is currently in charge of La Liga side Real Sociedad having made the decision to leave England following an ill-fated 10 months in charge at Manchester United.
And after Derby manager Steve McClaren ruled himself out of a move to St. James’ Park job the 52-year-old has emerged as the 5/6 favourite to fulfil the role.
“We all know Moyes will come back eventually. He’s gone to Spain to fill a gap in his CV and he probably needed to get out of the country” Kammy added.
“He’s done a decent job out there and he’ll be one of the hottest properties for Premier League teams once again.
“Pundits are now starting to look at his time at Manchester United and realise that it wasn’t all bad.
“There are small margins between success and failure. I’m sure if David could have his time at Old Trafford again then he’d do a few things differently.
“Having Sir Alex Ferguson by his side for the first six months wouldn’t have been a bad shout.”
Moyes’ Sociedad outfit have the unenviable task of taking on a rampant Barcelona side at the Nou Camp this weekend.
Perhaps unsurprisingly they’re the 25/1 underdogs to bag all three points and claim a memorable double over the Catalans.
