#InsideInfo: Widnes’ Rhys Hanbury reveals all about the Vikings squad

Published:

Widnes Vikings take on Salford this weekend looking to put some distance between themselves and Hull FC in the race for a top eight finish.

With 10 assists to his name already Rhys Hanbury has been there for his team-mates this season but while the Vikings squad may feel he is someone they can rely on the Australian is not afraid to call the shots as far as the squad are concerned.

In an exclusive chat with Ladbrokes News Hanbury gave us the lowdown on the men who reside at the Select Security Stadium.

Who is the best trainer?

That’d have to be Willy Isa. He puts in every day at the gym. He likes to walk around the gym yelling. I don’t know if he actually lifts but he puts on a good front, yelling at everyone to lift, so I’d have to say him but I could be wrong!

Who is the team joker?

Probably Eamon O’Carroll. He loves a joke and he’s in charge of all the fines for lateness and bad haircuts and all that.

Who is the worst dressed player?

Kevin Brown our captain for sure. I don’t know who dresses him each morning but it’s obviously not his Mrs. I think he just walks into the wardrobe and grabs any old thing.

Who has the worst taste in music?

There’s a few of the English boys that love House music and I’m not a big fan of House in the gym but I’d probably say Danny Craven is the worst.

Who is the fastest player?

Besides myself? I’d probably say Stefan Marsh is the fastest player.

Who is the slowest player?

Beside myself again? Hah! I’d have to say Danny Galea. He looks like he running on a treadmill at times!

Who is the most intelligent player?

Probably Kev – He’s got the most money so he must be doing something right!

Who is the least intelligent player?

There’s a few. Patrick Ah Van would have to be right up there though!

Who has the weirdest superstition?

I’m not sure really. Everyone probably keeps that stuff to themselves, Paddy Flynn likes to play with a Rubik’s Cube though so superstition might have something to do with that.

Who hits the hardest in training?

That’s probably a tie between Macgraff Leuluai and Hep Cahill if I’m running at full back I’m not running at them I’m aiming somewhere else.
