Gerrard’s moment of FA Cup magic voted his best ever Reds goal

It was always going to be a difficult task choosing just one Steven Gerrard goal as his best ever in a Liverpool shirt but we’ve managed to find a winner.

Well, more to the point you’ve been voting for your favourite strike and it’s the captain’s match-saving thunderbolt against West Ham in the 2006 FA Cup final that’s come out on top.

A whopping 58 per cent of those polled picked this particular heroic effort as their top Stevie G moment with the skipper’s wonder goal against Olympiakos second on the list on 27 per cent.

Meanwhile, Gerrard’s 2005 worldie against Middlesbrough in the Premier League took third place with 12 per cent.

And perhaps given the nature of the opposition it’s a little surprisingly to find his 2001 League Cup effort against bitter rivals Manchester United scooping just four per cent.

However, in last place with no votes at all (how?!) is a 2013 missile that flew past Manchester City goalkeeper, Joe Hart.

Before we sign off let’s take another look at the goal you chose as your number one on a long list of classic strikes.

Thanks for the memories, Stevie.
