The fans have spoken – Brendan Rodgers was worst manager last season

Published:

It’s fair to say that the 2014-15 Premier League season was one to forget for Liverpool and their manager Brendan Rodgers.

And just to rub further salt into their wounds it’s the Reds gaffer who’s been voted the worst performing boss by Ladbrokes News readers.

It was close though. The 42-year-old only just pipped the self-proclaimed ‘best coach in the Premier League’ and interim Newcastle boss John Carver to the post.

Rodgers took 35 per cent while Carver finished up with 34 per cent of the vote.

Behind our gruesome twosome came Harry Redknapp following his mid-season exit from QPR.

Dodgy knees or not there was little sympathy for ‘Arry with 23 per cent of you making him your villain of the piece.

Sacked Aston Villa boss Paul Lambert is the next failure on our list having overseen a turgid campaign that yielded a paltry 12 goals in the Scot’s 25 games in charge before being given the chop.

Sunderland’s Gus Poyet also found himself down on your list of letdowns having polled just one per cent.

And finally, it seems that Chilean Manuel Pellegrini could be about to receive a reprieve from the Manchester City board.

Well, you lot have certainly given him plenty of support at least.

Despite finishing some nine points off Chelsea in a bid to reclaim the title the Sky Blues supremo also only received a lashing from one per cent of those polled.
