Ex-Man City prospect could boost Bouremouth’s survival hopes

Burnley defender Kieran Trippier could be handed a Premier League lifeline, with Eddie Howe ready to swoop for the 24-year-old.
Trippier has started every single game for the Clarets this season and despite the Turf Moor outfit being relegated back to the Championship the Manchester City youth product did not look out of place in the top flight.
Bournemouth could face competition from south coast rivals Southampton, with Ronald Koeman rumoured to have earmarked Trippier as a potential Nathaniel Clyne replacement, but Howe is hoping his existing relationship with the player will stand him in good stead.
It was the Cherries manager who first took the right-back to Turf Moor, back in 2011, after the defender had impressed during loan spells with Barnsley and then the Clarets.
Trippier is contracted to Burnley until July 2017 and has an estimated value of £3m, but with Bournemouth able to offer top flight football and Burnley likely to need to trim their wage bill a move could suit all parties concerned.
Howe recently revealed that his transfer strategy will focus on British-based talent with experience of the Premier League and Bury-born Trippier certainly fits the bill.
Bournemouth have also been linked with he likes of Charlie Mulgrew, Micah Richards, Dimitar Berbatov, Jermain Defoe and Rickie Lambert and a few signings of that ilk could justify odds of 5/1 that say the Cherries will finish their debut Premier League campaign in the top 10.
