Arsenal on to give Swansea another top-six schooling

Published:

Arsene Wenger never misses a chance to put a positive spin on a season and, with a first Premier League silver medal in 10 years in his sights, it will be foot-to-the-floor stuff from Arsenal to finish the season.

Currently level on points with Manchester City, the Gunners can sneak ahead in the race to follow Chelsea home with a win over Swansea on Monday night.

With the north Londoners raring to go, their fast-starting tendencies coupled with Swansea’s struggles to better sides from the top six should result in a triumph for the French tactician.

A 1/3 price about the north Londoners prevailing at the Emirates isn’t something to get your weight behind though, especially with better value available in other markets on the game.

Instead, it’s the 5/6 around the Gunners leading at both half-time and full-time which appeals greatest, especially given the recent regularity with which the punt has landed.

Arsenal have led at both the break and the final whistle in eight of their last nine games at home, with the only exception being the 0-0 draw they played out against the champions last time they played at the Emirates.

Despite a ground-breaking campaign for Garry Monk in the Swansea dugout, his side have struggled tremendously against the sides from the current top six, only managing one away win and leaking goals like a sieve.

Aside from the 2-1 win over Manchester United, the south Welsh outfit have conceded 13 goals in away defeats to Chelsea, Man City, Liverpool and Tottenham.

With Arsenal rampant in front of goal during a run of 10 games unbeaten in the Premier League, another heavy defeat could be on the cards.
