On-fire Palace hotshot and Burnley boost head the 3pm punts

Published:

The Premier League’s phoney top-four war will be put on hold over the weekend, with Liverpool and Arsenal on FA Cup semi-final duty, but there’s plenty of action happening further down the table in Saturday’s 3pm kick-offs.

For your punting perusal, we’ve cooked up an acca that will pay out at more than 28/1 if the required business is done:

Crystal Palace v West Brom – Glenn Murray to score at any time @ 17/10

The 31-year-old striker has grasped his second chance at the Eagles under new boss Alan Pardew with both hands in recent games, having spent much of the first half of the campaign on loan at Reading in the Championship, where he notched eight times in 18 matches.

Murray has struck at a rate of a goal per game over Palace’s past six fixtures, and West Brom have conceded 10 in their last three outings, so he looks a fair shout to keep the run going.

Burnley double chance v Everton @ 23/20

Sean Dyche’s side have gained just five points from their past seven fixtures, but after avoiding defeat against Chelsea, Spurs and Manchester City (who they beat) during that run, and going down just 1-0 at home to in-form Arsenal last time out, it’s clear Burnley are fighting like lions for their Premier League status.

Swansea double chance v Leicester @ 13/20

Nigel Pearson’s hosts hardly deserve 6/5 favouritism after winning just six of their 31 Premier League games since promotion from the second tier last term.

Stoke v Southampton – Draw @ 9/4

The Potters are winless in four and only snapped a three-match losing streak when equalising late on at West Ham last time out, but Palace are the only team outside the current top four to have beaten them at home since November.

Southampton’s away form is patchy, with four points claimed from trips to Stamford Bridge and Old Trafford since Xmas tempered by recent reverses at Everton and West Brom.
