Everton close in on the ‘Bosnian Messi’ with their new trialist

Call him what you like, “the Bosnian Messi” or “the new Muhamed Besic”, one thing is for sure, Everton will be hoping their current trialist turns into something special.

Seid Behram will obviously need to impress the Toffees back room staff enough to secure a contract with the club, but the signs are good for the 16-year-old.

Currently contracted to FK Zeljeznicar in his home country, the Bosnian under-17 international has got plenty of clubs sitting up and taking notice.

Capable of playing anywhere across the front-line, his trickery and skill was enough to dazzle during his country’s ultimately unsuccessful Elite Round of Qualifiers for the European Championships.

And according to his quotes in the Liverpool Echo, the Sarajevo-born player is keen on a switch to Goodison Park.

“It is my great honor to be invited [by a] big club like Everton and train here.

“Therefore I received an invitiation to come here and to train with the first team and says that the club [are] really interested, and as far as a transfer, that will be known in the summer, God willing,” he said.

The youngster now reportedly has 10 days to impress the decision makers on Merseyside to secure a move.

Fellow countryman Muhamed Besic has bedded in well at Everton since a switch from Ferencvaros, and could be the ideal player to take Behram under his wing in the coming years.

The midfielder became the youngest ever player to represent Bosnia-Herzegovina in 2010 at the age of 18, who knows could Everton’s newest target be on course to break that?
