Cross-sports wager: Mix Man Utd with ‘the new Lewis Hamilton’

Published:

With wall-to-wall sport coming up over the weekend, we’ve scanned the horizon for the best bets on offer to bring you a multidenominational acca that will pay out at around 55/1, if all of them land.

Happy punting!

Bahrain Grand Prix – Max Verstappen to finish in the top 10 @ 5/6

The young Belgian matched his father Jos Verstappen’s best ever qualifying result when starting sixth on the grid in Malaysia last month, and was heading for eighth last time out at the Chinese Grand Prix before breaking down three laps from home.

The 17-year-old is already being called a potential superstar by the likes Martin Brundle, and ‘the new Lewis Hamilton’ on skysports.com, but the future is now with regard to another top ten finish for Verstappen.

Spring Cup (Saturday 15.25, Newbury) – Gabrial @ 7/1

Richard Fahey has taken this 1m handicap twice in the past six years, including 12 months ago with 8/1 shot Gabrial’s Kaka.

That horse was thrashed last time out in the Lincoln by his stablemate Gabrial, who claimed his second successive triumph over the Spring Cup distance. He doesn’t look too badly treated by the handicapper for that success at 9-5.

Chelsea v Manchester United – Both teams to score @ 17/20

Simply put, the Red Devils have failed to score just once on the road in nine matches so far in 2015, while Jose Mourinho has only seen his side keep three home clean sheets in the same number of fixtures since New Year’s Day.

GAA League One Final – Cork (+2) to beat Dublin @ 11/10

These two have taken this title between them every year for the past five, with Dublin going for a three-timer after Cork had done so between 2010-12.

The Dubs are worthy favourites at Croke Park, but their main focus this year will be regaining the Championship they failed to retain in 2014, when going down limply against eventual runner-up Donegal in the semi-finals.

With that in mind, Dublin are likely to be undercooked, so count on Cork to keep it tight.
