Chris Kamara: #VoteDeadlineDay is fast approaching in the UK

Published:

This week I decided to write about something I am passionate about above any sporting event.

September 1st 2014 and February 2nd 2015 are dates no doubt familiar to football fans across the UK, marking the close of the summer and winter transfer windows.

But I’ve got another deadline day for you to think about now – April 20th 2014.

That’s the deadline for you to register to vote in this year’s General Election at www.aboutmyvote.co.uk.

Let’s be clear about one thing: I’m not telling you who to vote for – your choice is very much your own and I am not trying to influence your decision in any way whatsoever.

But this year’s election is set to be the closest in recent times and it’s important to make sure your voice gets heard.

Now, whatever your passion, I know you are all familiar with ticking a box  at your local bookies.

All I am asking is that, come May 7th, you are ready to tick one of an altogether different kind.

This is about making sure you have your say on the future of this country and it couldn’t be easier.

So with time ticking on until the Monday April 20th deadline, make sure you get heard next month – register to vote online today.
