Why this weekend will offer few clues about the Championship title race

The Championship is often described as the most exciting league in the world of football and this year that tag is hard to deny.
With just eight games to go there are still at least seven teams clinging on to their title dreams, while an additional three teams can still make a push for the play-offs.
And while this weekend offers up three mouth-watering ties we’ll be no closer to finding out our winner and here’s why.
Bournemouth and Boro will draw
The Cherries have scored more goals than any other team and have the second best defensive record too. However, Boro boast the meanest defence and with just two points separating third-placed Bournemouth and the second placed Smoggies we’re in for another tight affair.
It has been impossible to separate these teams since Bournemouth’s promotion to the second tier, with all three games ending all square and with the Cherries playing out a stalemate at Cardiff last week both sides might just settle for a point.
Forest will beat Norwich
Fourth-placed Norwich are now just three points away from being outside the play-off places and they face Forest at just the wrong time.
The Canaries looked to have built up some serious momentum with a 4-1 demolition of Millwall but two draws since then is scant preparation for the visit of a Forest side that has lost just once in 10 games and know that maintaining such form could see them gatecrash the top six.
Ipswich will bounce back with victory over league leaders Watford
The sight of Wolves and Forest in their rear view mirror means the Tractor Boys simply must use their recent 1-0 win over Bolton to go on a hot streak if their title or play-off hopes are to remain a reality.
The Hornets may have lost just once in their last 10 games to take top spot but the 1-0 win Mick McCarthy’s side secured in the reverse fixture should give the visitors plenty of confidence going into this crunch tie.
