How Twitter reacted to Harry Kane’s goal-scoring England debut
Published:On a night where there were plenty of positives for England at Wembley where they put four past a very limited Lithuania side to extend their 100 per cent Euro 2016 qualification record, predictably, one man stole the show.
There have been few more eagerly anticipated England debuts in recent memory and although Roy Hodgson stuck to his guns by leaving Harry Kane on the bench, Tottenham’s wonderkid simply couldn’t be denied.
Only 79 seconds after entering the fray to replace Wayne Rooney, the Three Lions’ latest idol popped up at the back post to nod home his
first England goal with his third touch.
Despite excellent displays from fellow scorers Danny Welbeck, Raheem Sterling and Rooney – who is now just two goals shy of Sir Bobby Charlton’s all-time England goals record – it was Kane who came in for most praise on twitter:
Let’s hope Hodgson is right as the moment Kane connects with Sterling’s cross
to head home is captured in this photo

Looks like it won’t be long before every journalist, man, woman and child is
firmly on the Kane bandwagon
Eden Hazard my choice as Player of the Year. John Terry not far behind. But if Harry Kane keeps this up… Roy of the Rovers stuff.

Why could we all picture this happening?
BREAKING Harry Kane wakes up, throws some bread across his kitchen and it lands in the toaster. Then Mila Kunis walks in with his cuppa.
