Sign Bale and Man United will win the Prem, says former Red Devil

Manchester United’s rumoured interest in Gareth Bale has been given the nod of approval by a former star who feels the Welshman’s arrival would see the Red Devils crowned kings of England once again.

Phil Neville, a six-time Premier League winner during his time at Old Trafford, believes the number of goals and assists Bale would offer Louis van Gaal’s side would see the balance of power in the English top flight take a seismic shift back towards the Theatre of Dreams.

Speaking exclusively to News.Ladbrokes, Neville explained that Bale’s attacking presence would give United an instant lift and the upper hand over rivals Chelsea and Manchester City.

“If you sign Gareth Bale, without wishing to make outrageous statements, he probably wins Manchester United the league,” the Match of the Day pundit claimed.

“He gives you probably 25 goals a season plus another 15 to 20 assists so if he comes on board all of a sudden you’re talking about a Luis Suarez-type effect where he could carry the team virtually single-handedly to the title.”

Neville’s comments come shortly after Bale was booed by sections of the travelling Madrid crowd after putting in what they deemed a lacklustre performance in Real’s recent 2-1 El Clasico loss to Barcelona.

In the wake of that performance, which saw him touch the ball just 13 times in the second half, the former Southampton and Tottenham star also had his car attacked as he made his made out of the ground.

As a result of the perceived ill-feeling of the fans toward the winger, Ladbrokes has made a return to the Premier League a short-priced option at just 3/1,

And should Bale decide to call time on his La Liga days Neville will be pleased to find that his former club are the 7/4 favourites to welcome him back, with Chelsea a distance second at 6/1.
