Poll: Is anyone lazier than Mario Balotelli on the football pitch?
It appears all the ‘Tired Sterling’ jibes are set to make a return with Roy Hodgson admitting the Liverpool forward is set to put his feet up while England take to the field against Italy next week.
Lack of fitness? Or the pressures of a busy Premier League campaign? Or simply a case of nursing an injury?
To some it may just seem like laziness, but it’s fair to say this lot are in a different league to Raheem when it comes to shirking responsibility on the pitch.
That’s why, for today’s poll we want to know who is the laziest player to currently grace the hallowed turf?

When Sterling actually does get on the pitch he’s undoubtedly a hard worker, the same cannot be said for his team-mate Balotelli.
Liverpool’s completion of his signing in the January looked a shrewd piece of business at the time, but three goals in 25 games just further add to call that the Italian is just a moody and frustrating, yet somewhat gifted, footballer.
Perhaps the benchmark when it comes to measuring footballers on the ‘Lazy-o-meter’.
Like Balotelli, with the ball at his feet the Bulgarian is capable of inflicting plenty of damage, but when the game doesn’t revolve around him the former Manchester United man often looks like he’d rather be somewhere else.
Taarabt was one critic of the aforementioned Ballotelli, slamming him and stating that he “doesn’t play for the team”. The words pot and kettle come to mind.
When he’s not hogging the ball or sulking, Taarabt is seemingly hell-bent on getting in the papers to disband the motion that he is over-weight after being lambasted by then-QPR boss Harry Redknapp.
One article recently described how the Tottenham man “only moves when he wants a new contract”, and it’s fair to see where it is coming from.
The most effort we can recall him putting in was rushing from one end of the pitch at the Etihad to the other to gloat in front of the Arsenal fans. Let’s just say they weren’t too happy with his efforts.
