Six Nations: Ireland wing duo a fine wager to blitz Scotland

It was no surprise to see Leinster prop Cian Healey back in the Ireland front row for the crucial Six Nations final-round clash with Scotland, but coach Joe Schmidt sprung something of a surprise in handing the 27-year-old’s club teammate Luke Fitzgerald a spot on the wing.
Fitzgerald hasn’t started for his country since 2011 and last wore the green jersey as a substitute in Ireland’s galling 24-22 loss to New Zealand more than 18 months ago.
Schmidt’s side have been strong throughout the Six Nations and look decent value at 7/4 to retain the title by besting England’s winning score against France by five points or more, but they’ve struggled to get over the line of late.
Against Stuart Lancaster’s charges it took a deft kick from scrum-half Conor Murray to put in Robbie Henshaw for the only try of the 19-9 home win, and last time out the Munster number nine didn’t even attempt the same trick when Ireland went down 23-16 in Wales.
They look dead certs to get behind Scottish lines in Edinburgh though, as Vern Cotter’s crowd have been breached twice in each of their Six Nations 2015 home games against Wales and Italy.
With that in mind, getting on the enhanced-price double of Fitzgerald and fellow Ireland winger Tommy Bowe to both go over at 5/1 is the advice.
Bowe hasn’t yet managed to score in this year’s tournament, a stat he’ll be desperate to put right against Cotter and co after touching down at home to both South Africa and Australia during the autumn internationals series.
