Mayweather gets the verdict in Ladbrokes’ latest poll

Although Floyd Mayweather would probably tell you that he’ll absolutely dominate Manny Pacquiao his victory looks like being a split decision, that is according to Ladbrokes’ latest poll.

Asked who would triumph in the super fight at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas our readers struggled to split the pair of boxing behemoths.

The blows (or votes) were traded tit for tat in the early stages, neither fighter taking a clear advantage in the preliminary skirmishes.

But as time went on, it was clear that momentum was gathering behind the man they call ‘Money’, as he got the last blow in to land the decision with 52 per cent of the vote.

Pacman may have run him close in our poll, but a close defeat is still a defeat and the Filipino will be desperate to out-box his 15/8 odds as underdog.

The time is nearly here, with less than two months until two of the finest pugilists in recent times clash on May 2, and with around £200m of income likely to be generated, the pressure will be on as preparations gather pace.

Mayweather remains the 4/9 favourite for the contest, one in which success would see him take his record to 48 and 0.
