Liverpool looks most likely destination for PSG troublemaker

Zlatan Ibrahimovic could be in line for a long-awaited spell in the Premier League, according to the latest odds from Ladbrokes.

The bookmaker has priced Liverpool as the 8/1 favourites to sign the 33-year-old, after the Swede was involved in yet another moment of controversy for the Parisiens.

Ibrahimovic was captured on camera referring to France as a “**** country” in the immediate aftermath of PSG’s 3-2 defeat to Bordeaux at the weekend.

The comments have been widely condemned by fans and pundits alike in the Gallic nation and could prove to be the final straw for both player and club.

Zlatan was at the centre of another controversial moment last week, with the former Barcelona and AC Milan striker shown a straight red card during PSG’s Champions League clash.

Though the Parisiens did ultimately progress on away goals, Ibrahimovic’s albeit controversial sending off proved a major hindrance to their efforts.

And while the veteran forward netted a brace in Ligue 1 at the weekend, it was not enough to prevent PSG losing the game.

A Liverpool move could now beckon, though the Reds could yet face competition from Chelsea, with odds of 10/1 offered on Ibrahimovic opting to be reunited with former Inter Milan manager Jose Mourinho.

Having previously turned down the offer of a trial at Arsenal with the immortal line “Zlatan doesn’t do auditions” a move to the Gunners remains unlikely at 16/1 with Manchester United and Tottenham both available at the same price.

Manchester City meanwhile are 20/1 alongside AS Monaco having only recently acquired Wilfried Bony from Swansea City.

A Ladbrokes spokesperson said: “Zlatan’s position at PSG looks precarious, with some calling for him to leave France, but the odds suggest Liverpool would welcome him with open arms.”
