Ladbrokes Poll: Guess who is lazier than Berbatov and Taarabt…

Published:

When it comes to being the laziest player in world football today, few have a patch on Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli.

That is according to Ladbrokes News readers, who backed the Italian as soccer’s most slovenly star after a season in which the 24-year-old has scored just four goals in 20 appearances for the Reds.

Balotelli collected 40 per cent of the vote, ahead of former Manchester United, Tottenham and Fulham forward Dimitar Berbatov.

Known for his laid back, skillful style of play as well as his smoking habit, the Bulgarian picked up 29 per cent of the vote in a closely-fought contest.

Queens Park Rangers’ man-boobed maestro Adel Taarabt was next in the voting having picked up a 19 per cent share of the vote for his efforts, or lack of, at Loftus Road this season.

Tottenham’s forgotten man Emmanuel Adebayor was just behind the Moroccan in fourth after collecting 12 per cent of the vote.

Balotelli’s poor form has not gone unnoticed either, with the Liverpool forward excluded from Antonio Conte’s latest Azzurri squad.

Italy are due to meet England in a friendly encounter next week with Mario likely to be catching that one from the comfort of his sofa.
