Kammy siding with Silviniaco Conti ahead of the Gold Cup

The most prestigious prize in National Hunt racing is up for grabs on the final day of this year’s Cheltenham Festival.

And ahead of the Gold Cup we caught up with Ladbrokes amabassador Chris Kamara to find out who he’s backing to land the spoils in the feature race.

Kammy told Ladbrokes News: “You can’t look beyond the favourite, Silviniaco Conti. I’ve had a great Cheltenham betting wise. I had a great day on Tuesday.

“I was on the four-timer of Douvan, Un De Sceaux, Faugheen and Annie Power. I was gutted about Annie Power. She was going well before that sniper from the bookies but I still had the other three as singles.”

“On the Wednesday I backed Windsor Park and Moon Racer, the latter antepost at 12/1.

“But I’m siding with Silviniaco Conti for the big one and unless the going changes he’ll be my bet.“

The dual King George winner is up against a competitive field in one of the most open renewals in recent times.

Willie Mullins’ Djakadam is currently vying with the Nicholls charge for favouritism while Oliver Sherwood’s Many Clouds and novice chance Coneygree are two other lively outsiders following a drop of rain at Prestbury Park.
