Messi’s last appearance was a hat-trick against Rayo Vallecano, making it 20 goals in 17 all-competition games for Barcelona for the diminutive genius.
Unlike his compatriots, Messi did manage to find the net in the reverse fixture with Rayo and has 13 strikes against them in eight outings over the course of his career.
