Hitman Treble: Chelsea star joins Clasico rivals in tasty boost

Published:

Ladbrokes are offering to top up the perfect Sunday of football viewing with a tasty price boost to accompany any sumptuous afternoon roast dinner.

As Chelsea do battle with Hull as a precursor to the delicately poised El Clasico later in the evening, the bookmaker is boosting the three prominent goal getters in those three sides all to score.

Diego Costa, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are all the latest subject of Ladbrokes’ infamous Hitman Treble offer, with the price of all three finding the net out from 6/1 to an even more tempting 8s.

Below is a summary of each player’s form:

Diego Costa v Hull

The leading Premier League goalscorer had been suffering something of a dry patch recently, going seven outings without success before facing Southampton.

Thankfully for followers of the Hitman Treble, the Brazilian turned Spaniard managed to slot past the meanest defence in the division, which should see a return to the scoring form that helped the Blues ease into a lead at the league’s summit.

Costa also managed to slot in the reverse fixture against the Tigers in December.

Lionel Messi v Real Madrid

Costa’s 18 league goals may top the Premier League charts, but that figure pales in significance when stacked against the 32 La Liga strikes Messi has managed.

Unsurprisingly for a man that has scored at a goal-per-game rate in all competitions this season, the Argentine is in fine fettle.

The diminutive forward didn’t find the net against Manchester City in midweek, but still has five goals in his last three appearances thanks to a hat-trick against Rayo Vallecano – his sixth of the term – and a brace versus Eibar.

Crisitano Ronaldo v Barcelona

Having seen his great rival not only close the gap he previously held in the La Liga scoring race, but overtake him too; Ronaldo will be hell-bent on setting the record straight at the Nou Camp.

The Portuguese has bagged in four of his last six appearances for a total of five goals in that time and found the net, unlike his nemesis, when the two sides met in Madrid earlier on in the season.
