Hipster Tipster: Gervinho and Moyes bringing the magic

Published:

The UK weather may have improved somewhat in recent weeks but it’s still a far cry from the warm glow emanating from both the San Sebastian and Stadio Olimpico in Sociedad and Rome respectively.

Having also invested in a mock otter-hair dressing gown and matching slippers combo though I’m sitting pretty this Sunday with the usual menu of German, French, Italian and Spanish soccer providing a televisual tapas of football to feast on alongside some Sainsbury’s Finest cheese twists.

After a few days spent consuming stats on all things Bundesliga et al I’ve belched up four great bet tips to help make the usual post-discotheque malaise a little more palatable.

Available at just over 18/1 as a fourfold, read on to find out why Gervinho and David Moyes may hold the key to making it a weekend to remember.

Roma to beat Chievo @ 4/5

The Giallorossi were back to their battling best last time out against Juventus, snatching an unlikely draw despite being down to 10 men. These Romans should conquer a Chievo side with one win from their last seven at home with relative ease. Hail Gervinho!

Real Sociedad to beat Espanyol @ 23/20

The Moyes revolution continues apace in Sociedad with La Real’s beating Sevilla 4-3 at home last time out in the kind of fast-paced thriller not seen since my last afternoon spent perusing the many, many Dan Brown novel’s residing in my local charity shop. Espanyol don’t stand a chance.

Lille to beat Guingamp @ 2/1

Victors last time out against Ligue 1 challengers Lyon those previous opponents may be without free-kick maestro Juninho Pernambucano but they remain a force to be reckoned with. A Guingamp side who were in midweek action in the cup should prove an easy scalp.

Bayer Leverkusen to beat Paderborn @ 4/6

Once the newly-promoted darlings of the Bundesliga, Paderborn have endured the kind of slide not seen since the time Cool Runnings first hit the cinemas. I expect them to slip up again against a side who are defying their Neverkusen nickname. Alwayseverkusen more like. Maybe.
