Danny Ings the big omission from England team says Sky Sports man

Many may have questioned Roy Hodgson’s decision to omit Charlie Austin from his latest England squad, but according to Ladbrokes ambassador Chris Kamara, it is Danny Ings who can feel most hard done by.

Speaking exclusively to Ladbrokes News, Kammy spoke of how both players had staked their claim this season, but it was the Burnley man that has impressed him most.

“I think Danny Ings is very, very unlucky”, the former Bradford boss told us.

“Danny’s proven at under-21 level how good he is. The sooner Roy gets Danny Ings in the better, in order to establish him as an England international.

“He’s like Charlie Austin, performing in a really struggling team, he’s not got as many goals as Charlie, but he’s a very different player.”

With nine Premier League goals to his name the 23-year-old has netted over a third of Burnley’s goals this campaign, an area of their game they have really lacked in as a team.

Out of contract in the summer, it remains to be seen whether the former Bournemouth man will still be donning the claret shirt next season.

Nevertheless, Kammy still sees plenty more chances for the young English pair to make their mark.

“There’s without a doubt plenty more time for them to forge an international career.

“It’s the first year that both of them have done it in the top division. If QPR or Burnley go down, it will be interesting to see if another Premier League club comes in for them.”

But while the Sky Sports pundit sees Ings as his preferred choice of the pair, he would have no issue with Charlie Austin donning the Three Lions shirt any time soon.

“If we were in a situation in the Lithuania game where you needed a goal, you wouldn’t have any qualms about throwing Charlie on.

“I just think Charlie might look at who is in front of him at the moment, and think ‘I just need another season scoring in the Premier League to make my claim.”

For now, Roy Hodgson’s men must manage with two of the brightest English striking talents against Lithuania.

And with a victory expected at Wembley, the handicap line for the match has been set at two goals, with England -2 available at odds of evens.
