Celtic have alternative to Manchester City loan troublemaker

With John Guidetti’s attitude coming into question after squabbling with James Forrest as to who would take a penalty kick in Sunday’s Scottish League Cup final, the on-loan Manchester City man could be set for the Celtic Park exit.
A total of 13 goals in 28 games for the Bhoys represents a solid enough record, but after finding goals harder to come by for the Hoops more recently, Ronny Deila may be tempted to cut his losses.
Guidetti will not be found wanting for alternative clubs either, having attracted admiring glances from across Europe.
Feyenoord – the team where the 22-year-old enjoyed arguably his finest season to date – are the latest to throw their hat into the ring for the Swede, who is a free agent in the summer.
The Rotterdam club’s technical director, Martin van Geel, confirmed as much during a television appearance in Holland over the weekend.
“I did indeed go to Scotland,” he explained in a broadcast on De Tafel.
According to the Feyenoord chief, the club are seriously considering a move to bring the striker back to De Kuip along with former fan favourite Dirk Kuyt, who is also available on a free.
“The pair are very serious options,” he added.
But Deila may lose little sleep should Guidetti opt to depart, with another loan star of sorts proving prolific in recent times.
The only twist is that Teemu Pukki, a Celtic player on loan at Brondby, is not scoring his goals for the Bhoys just yet.
Still only 24, the Finland international came to Parkhead with something of a pedigree following spells in Spain and Germany with Sevilla and Schalke respectively.
Despite a steady seven goals in 27 league outings, Pukki struggled to adapt to life at Celtic Park, often playing second fiddle to some of the club’s more established attacking stars.
Now back at Brondby and playing regularly the Scandinavian striker has proven rather more prolific with eight goals in 17 games already this term.
And while he has previously spoken of being keen on remaining in Denmark, a few persuasive words from Deila coupled with the opportunity to play in the Champions League could pave the way for a second chance at Celtic Park.
Having turned around the fortunes of Stefan Johansen at the club already this season, the Hoops manager could work his magic again.
