Super League: Top four still the aim for Salford despite opening loss

| 11.02.2015

Salford can bounce back from their 22-8 defeat to Warrington on the opening weekend of the season and make a play for the top four.

That is the opinion of Red Devils and England star Rangi Chase, who has high hopes for the Super League season ahead and is also eyeing a decent run in the Ladbrokes Challenge Cup.

Speaking with the Ladbrokes News team, Chase lays out his aspirations for the year ahead and claimsw he wouldn’t bet on anyone else.

What would be a successful season for Salford in Super League XX?

A good season for us would be a top four finish and I think we’ll do well this year.

If you could pick any other Super League player to sign for Salford this year who would you pick and why?

Jamie Peacock. I had the privilege to play with him for England and he’s just an inspiration.

Who will be the next big thing at Salford?

We’ve got a young half/hooker called Theo Fages who will go well and Niall Evalds has had a few games for us.

Then there’s the Walne brothers. We’ve got a lot of good young players but I’m looking forward to seeing Theo Fages in particular.

If Ladbrokes gave you a free £100 bet (other than Salford) to win the Super League who would pick and why?

I wouldn’t bet on another team.

Ladbrokes are the proud new sponsors of the Challenge Cup, what is your favourite memory of the competition?

I haven’t really had any good experiences yet. We got to a semi-final once but lost so hopefully we can create some good memories this season.
