Super League: Team-mate tips Curtis Naughton to shine for Hull FC

Published:

Teenager Curtis Naughton has returned from his stint in Australia and is ready to show the Super League what he’s made of.

That is according to his Hull FC team-mate Joe Arundel, who claimed the full-back is capable of putting in some solid displays for the Cream who are looking to have a decent Challenge Cup run in 2015.

Here, Arundel, spells out what success would be for his side and also reveals his admiration for seasoned campaigner Jamie Peacock.

What would be a successful season for Hull FC in Super League XX?

I think we need to get off to a good start. You can’t afford to get off to a slow start, especially with the new format and the super 8 tournament. We want to be avoiding that and getting into the top eight and having a good run in the Challenge Cup.

If you could pick any other Super League player to sign for Hull FC this year who would you pick and why?

Jamie Peacock for the work he gets through. He’s a big name for the team and you can tell how much he does for Leeds and how he takes them forward. Him and Kevin Sinfield are true leaders and anyone with that sort of leadership is going to be good for your team.

Who will be the next big thing at Hull FC?

Keep your eyes out from Curtis Naughton. He played for Bradford and went to Australia but now he’s come back and I reckon he’ll impress a few this year.

If Ladbrokes gave you a free £100 bet (other than Hull FC) to win the Super League who would pick and why?

It’s going to be a tough year but if I can’t bet on us I’ll say Warrington.

Ladbrokes are the proud new sponsors of the Challenge Cup, what is your favourite memory of the competition?

My favourite moment was reaching the final with Hull a couple of years ago. I didn’t get to play as I broke my hand but that’s still the highlight.
