Super League: Leeds to strike first v Hull KR is our value pick

The new Super League season is underway and as proud betting partners of the competition we’ve been brushing up our knowledge on all things rugby league.
This weekend the remaining four opening round games are set to take place and we’ve picked out our three best bets ahead of kick-off.
Last season didn’t live up to the Rhinos’ usual high standards meaning Brian McDermott’s side will be eager to fly out of the blocks in the forthcoming campaign.
Funnily enough, Hull KR were put to the sword by these very same opponents 34-6 in 2014’s season-curtain raiser completing a 14th straight opening day victory for the six-time Super League winners.
The reverse fixture produced a similar result with Rob Burrow crossing the line first to set Leeds on their way to a 30-6 victory back in July.
And we’re expecting more of the same with this our value bet of the weekend.
Despite largely underperforming last season there were signs that Salford Red Devils were beginning to get their act together and close the gap on their more illustrious rivals.
But whether they’re progressing at the pace ambitious owner Dr Marwan Koukash demands is still up for debate.
Warrington have been dominant in their recent meetings with Chris Bridge one of Salford’s chief tormentors last term.
He ran in tries in both of last season’s encounters, including the opening score in a 28-12 win in Greater Manchester.
He’s our fancy to break the deadlock once again.
Cas may find it difficult to build-upon on last season’s dash to the play-off semi-finals and Challenge Cup final.
But if they are to continue their momentum then a convincing win against local rivals Wakefield is a must.
The Wildcats are many pundits’ tip for relegation and their recent form doesn’t bode well for a positive result at the Jungle.
The Tigers have won three of their last five encounters against the Dreadnoughts by a comfortable margin (28, 23 and 25 points respectively) and we think they’ll cover this handicap.
