QPR head up the betting for Adebayor after Hammers blocked

Harry Redknapp may be remaining tight-lipped on the prospect of signing another player before the close of the transfer window but that has not stopped Queens Park Rangers from emerging as the favourites to sign the Togo international.

The bookmaker has the Tottenham striker at 5/4 to sign with the Loftus Road club before the 11pm deadline, with a move to West Ham United reportedly blocked by Spurs chairman Daniel Levy.

According to The Telegraph, the Tottenham chief is opposed to the idea of allowing the striker to move to a Premier League rival, with the Hammers still in the mix for Champions League qualification alongside the Lilywhites.

A move to QPR would prove a much more palatable prospect, with Rangers in the midst of a relegation dogfight and without a win on the road in the top-flight so far this term.

Rs boss Redknapp, however, has so far rebuffed any claims that the ex-Arsenal striker will be heading to the London club, though he could yet be bluffing in a bid to coax the Spurs man into a move.

“Unless there is an absolute miracle, nothing is going to happen,” he told BBC reporters.

“Emmanuel Adebayor? Nothing there either unless there is a change of heart from the player.”

With time running out and a move to West Ham out of the question, a shift in stance could well be in order.
