Poll result: Madonna’s Brit Awards fall not as funny as Blatter’s

Madonna’s epic fall at the Brit Awards may have been the butt of a million social media jokes over the last couple of days but the Queen of Pop can take solace from the fact that she’s in good company.

The footballing world has offered us some pretty spectacular tumbles over the years and three of the most high profile are more popular, according the latest Ladbrokes Poll.

We asked you to vote for your favourite tumble and even though her cape fear was still fresh in the mind, Madge only secured 13 per cent of the vote.

John Terry’s penalty slip-up against Manchester United in the 2008 Champions League final was the third most popular, gaining 17 per cent of the votes but Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard was deemed even funnier.

Gerrard took second spot with 29 per cent for the slip that saw then-Chelsea striker Demba Ba effectively end the Reds’ Premier League title dreams.

The clear winner though was Fifa president Sepp Baltter, who took an almighty tumble at a football congress last year.

Now we don’t know if it’s his ballsing up of the 2022 World Cup, his comments on how to sex up women’s football or the fact that the fall itself is hilarious but the smarmy Swiss took a commanding lead with 33 per cent of the votes.

And bringing up the rear with the most ridiculous rabona in history is David Dunn. The fact this is seen by fans of Soccer Am on a weekly basis means its popularity may have died down, but it’s still pretty funny!
