Leicester v Crystal Palace: Eagles to bounce back with win

Published:

Alan Pardew’s honeymoon period as Crystal Palace manager ended last week with a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Everton.

However, the Eagles fans’ love affair with the man dubbed “Pardiola” looks likely to be given a boost over the weekend with Palace travelling to the King Power Stadium.

Pardew’s men may be the outsiders at 9/4, but with the Foxes losing four of their last five at home the 11/8 on Nigel Pearson’s side looks a little slim.

The draw can be backed at 23/10 but there are better-value bets out there as the below three markets suggest.

Palace to win and BTTS @ 5/1

Defeat to the Toffees may have knocked the wind out of Palace’s sails but the belief instilled by Pardew will not be lost overnight.

As already mentioned, Leicester are struggling for form in front of their own fans and having lost two of the last three meetings with the Eagles look unlikely to arrest that form here.

The Foxes are not shy in front of goal though, netting in seven of their last eight games, and with Palace seeing both sides score in three out of four the 5/1 looks too good to ignore.

Leonardo Ulloa to score first @ 11/2

We may have tipped Palace to win but the chances are they’ll have to come from behind to do so.

Argentine Ulloa had a tremendous start to the season but has been patchy since. That said his stats cannot be ignored.

Of the seven goals he’s netted thus far six have come first in games and with the home crowd behind him another opener could well materialise.

Dwight Gayle to score anytime @ 3/1

With Yannick Bolasie still on AFCON duty and Gayle’s still the club’s top scorer in the league to find him at 3/1 to pop up with a goal at anytime is something of a treat.

With five goals to his name already this season, the 24-year-old will be hoping to reach double figures, starting with another strike against the league’s bottom side.
