Hull can expect home form to soar should wanted boss arrive

If there was any scepticism over Neil Lennon’s ability as a manager, despite winning three Scottish League titles and two Scottish Cups while in charge of Celtic, the serenity he has installed to Bolton Wanderer’s previously chaotic season has hushed the doubters.
Lennon took over at the Macron Stadium in mid October with the Trotters rooted to the foot of the Championship having collected just five points in the opening 11 games under Dougie Freedman.
When the Lancashire side welcomed Liverpool in their FA Cup fifth round replay on Wednesday night, they sat 14 points clear of new bottom-feeders Blackpool and had lost just four league outings under the Northern Irishman.
That escape mission must alert the handful of relegation-threatened Premier League sides yet to switch managers this season, with Hull reportedly the keenest of that crop to make a change.
Despite being one point from safety, the 18th-placed Tigers have the worst home record in the division with just two wins to their name and must improve rapidly at the KC Stadium if they wish to stave off the drop.
Lennon is certainly one man who can remedy that issue, having done exactly the same thing since taking over at Bolton.
The Liverpool loss was the club’s first at home with the Northern Irishman in charge, while the side have churned out five wins from eight league games under the former Leicester midfielder having won just once in six with Freedman in charge.
A noted trait for man-management is another feather in the 43-year-old’s cap, as Emile Heskey alluded to in the BBC studios before and after the Liverpool visit, and it could be that this combination of skills sees Lennon installed in the KC Stadium dugout to push 11/10 relegation odds out further at Bruce’s expense.
