Hitman Treble: Sturridge, Defoe and Giroud on call this week

Published:

A full schedule of Premier League fixtures provides a rare midweek treat and with the action coming thick and fast in England’s top tier, Ladbrokes are keen to match it with a very tasty price boost.

As the fights to avoid relegation, secure a European qualification spot and indeed, win the title, goal difference could become key.

So with that in mind, focus turns to three top strikers to do the business for their sides.

From 8am on Tuesday February 10 you can get 12/1 (from 9/1) on Daniel Sturridge, Jermain Defoe and Olivier Giroud all to get on the scoresheet.

As if you needed any reasoning, here’s why each of these players is primed to deliver.

Daniel Sturridge to score vs Tottenham

It’s fair to say that Spurs haven’t enjoyed their meetings with Liverpool in recent years, demonstrated by the fact that they have shipped 15 goals in their last four head-to-heads.

One man who is likely to add to that tally is the striker the Reds have been somewhat lacking for much of the season, Daniel Sturridge.

The England striker has netted four goals in his last six matches at Anfield and will be poised to fire Brendan Rodgers’ men on from a drab Merseyside derby stalemate.

Jermain Defoe to score vs QPR

It may have taken him a game or two to get going in a Sunderland shirt, but Jermain Defoe looks well at home leading the line for the Mackems.

He has scored two goals in his last three, and will heed great encouragement from QPR’s poor record on the road.

The R’s terrible away record is well documented, but the fact that they have conceded two or more goals in nine of the last 10 could see Defoe having plenty of opportunities to get on the scoresheet.

Olivier Giroud to score vs Leicester

With Alexis Sanchez only just overcoming a hamstring injury, the onus could be on Olivier Giroud to come out firing for Arsenal’s clash against Leicester.

The Foxes currently sit glued to the bottom of the table, with three straight Premier League defeats to their name and could be in real trouble if the Gunners are on song.

And with the Frenchman netting four goals in his most recent six appearances at the Emirates, be prepared for more Giroud magic in north London.
