Buzzword Bingo makes a comeback for Eastenders live show

Published:

This week the nation be glued to their screens as we finally solve a near-year long saga around the death of Lucy Beale.

But is anyone any the wiser as to who slayed the daughter of Walford’s most famous cafe owner?

The fact that five of the top nine in Ladbrokes ‘Who Killed Lucy Beale?’ market share the victim’s surname suggests the killer was very well known to her.

Indeed Mimi Keene, who plays half-sister Cindy also has an inkling it was one of her own: “My suspicions lie within the Beale household. At first I thought it was Peter and I’m definitely still leaning towards the Beales,” she told the Radio Times.

“It has to have some sort of dark resonance to it, otherwise it would be pointless”, she continued.

Perhaps the most surprising move has seen 11-year-old Bobby Beale cut in to 9/2 from 9/1 in the space of the weekend, in what would be an intriguing twist.

However, the stand-out move is Mick Carter, with a flurry of shop bets seeing Danny Dyer’s character cut in from 66/1 to 5/1 in the space of a week.

With three live shows to come before the killer is unmasked, there is still time for more twists and turns, both on screen and in the betting market.

While the culprit’s identity may be shrouded in mystery, some things are nearly certain to happen in Albert Square.

That’s why Ladbrokes are bringing back the popular ‘Buzzword Bingo‘ market for Thursday’s big reveal.

But at bigger prices of 4/1 and 16/1 ‘How could you’ and ‘You’re having a laugh’ are the stand-outs in the well-worn E20 phrasebook.

It’s not just phrases Ladbrokes are pricing up though.

They may be odds-on shots, but they look pretty secure with odds of 1/3 that Ian Beale turns on the waterworks, or 1/10 that Billy Mitchell cracks out one of his regular grimaces.
