Price Boost: Barca and PSG add some continental flavour to our cup treble

Published:

As January plugs on, we start to see cup competitions from all over Europe reach their latter stages as clubs seek some elusive silverware.

And with semi action coming from the Capital One Cup, and the Copa Del Rey and Coupe de France continuing to separate the wheat from the chaff, we thought it was time for a nice enhanced treble offer.

So from 8am on Wednesday 21st January, Ladbrokes are offering 9/4 (from 7/4) that Barcelona, PSG and Tottenham are victorious in their domestic cup competitions.

As if you needed any more reason to get involved, here’s some background on the three ties…

Barcelona to beat Atletico Madrid @ 1/2

Luis Enrique’s side got the perfect preparation for this Copa del Rey semi final first leg two weeks ago, when dispatching Diego Simeone’s men 3-1 in La Liga.

The Catalan side totally outplayed Los Rojiblancos and were plenty of value for their winning margin.

That victory enhanced Barca’s recent home record, winning 14 of their last 16 ties at the Camp Nou, scoring 58 goals in the process.

With Real Madrid dispatched by their city rivals in the previous round, the hosts will be hopeful that seeing off Atleti can lead to another cup triumph.

PSG to beat Bordeaux @ 4/11

At home at the Parc Des Princes, Paris St Germain are another side that thrive in front of their own fans.

Les Parisiens have won 15 and drawn three of their last 18 matches in the French capital, and hold some fearsome form over this week’s rivals Bordeaux, winning their last six head-to-heads.

Les Girondins are stuttering of late, tasting defeat in four of their last six matches, and with no fewer than four first team regulars on AFCON duty, should struggle in this Coup de France encounter.

Tottenham to beat Sheffield United @ 1/3

They may have accounted for five Premier League clubs in just over the last 12 months, but this could be the end of the giant-killing spree for Sheffield United.

Tottenham’s unbeaten run at home now stretches to eight games, and with Mauricio Pochettino’s side winning six of those, the hosts look a fair shout to take the advantage in the first leg of this Capital One Cup semi final.

The White Hart Lane outfit have seen off 14 of the last 16 lower league challengers to take them on in the League Cup, so are historically averse to falling to potential banana skins.
