Newcastle United v Southampton: Tadic tipped to flex his muscles again

Published:

On a high following back-to-back 1-0 wins over Manchester United in the league and Ipswich Town in an FA Cup replay, the Saints look set to go marching on against a Newcastle team still living in managerial limbo following the departure of Alan Pardew.

Southampton beat Newcastle 4-0 at St Mary’s earlier in the season but Ladbrokes still have the south coast club at 6/5 to win this match with the Magpies 23/10 to claim victory on their home patch with the draw at 12/5.

But before you go lumping on a win for Ronald Koeman’s men, why not have a look at the following three tips, starting with the familiar torso of Dusan Tadic.

Dusan Tadic to score and Southampton to win @ 15/4

He may have made more headlines for showing off his torso after scoring at Old Trafford last weekend but in fairness Tadic has plenty to celebrate, having scored in back-to-back games in the Premier League.

With Graziano Pelle out of form in front of goal the Serbian looks the best prospect to score as part of a win for the Saints and is handsomely priced to do so with Ladbrokes.

Over 3.5 goals to be scored @ 12/5

The St James’ Park masses have been treated to some goal-heavy contests of late with a 3-2 win over Everton followed up by a 3-3 draw with Burnley and while it may be tempting to back over 4.5 goals being scored again here at 5/1, it’s important not to get greedy.

Backing 3.5 goals being scored therefore looks the obvious solution with Southampton recently celebrating a 3-1 win away at Crystal Palace.

Jack Colback to score anytime @ 11/2

Like Tadic for the Saints, the man dubbed the ginger Pirlo by Roy Hodgson has been amongst the goals for Newcastle of late and looks a good tip to score again here.

The ex-Sunderland man has scored in the Magpies’ previous two home games in the Premier League and is a great price to find the net again here.
