Manchester United v Leicester: Red Devils to exact revenge

Published:

Leicester shocked Manchester United, and in all likelihood themselves, when running out 5-3 winners earlier this season and the stats suggest that result will prove a one off.

United have now lost just one of their last 14 games in all competitions, while the Foxes have taken maximum points just once in nine attempts away from the King Power Stadium.

The Red Devils go into the tie as 4/11 favourites, with Leicester priced at 8/1 and the draw available at 4/1.

With the hosts not offering huge returns, though, here are three bets that could offer better value.

Manchester United to win to nil @ 23/20

The Red Devils have kept a clean sheet in three of their last four matches and, events earlier this season aside, can usually rely on a win against Leicester.

Before that result, United had won the previous nine Premier League clashes, going unbeaten in 10 since Tony Cottee secured  a 1-0 win at Old Trafford in January 1998.

In the eight Premier League meetings prior to the 5-3 game Leicester had scored just one goal.

Juan Mata to score and United to win @ 2/1

With Angel Di Maria and Radamel Falcao joining Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie in the United attacking line-up, many assumed Juan Mata would be sidelined at Old Trafford.

In fact, the Spaniard has been one of the Red Devils’ best performers and with a tally of five goals from just seven shots on target you can bank on the diminutive midfielder scoring any chance that comes his way.

Under 3.5 goals @ 1/2

Louis van Gaal and his men may be set on revenge but the form book suggests a quiet afternoon on the goal front.

United have scored just five goals in their last six games and shipped just two at the other end in that period.
