Leicester v Stoke: Ulloa a solid bet to open scoring

Published:

Bottom side Leicester are in something of a purple patch at present, winning three and drawing one of their last four in all competitions.

Unfortunately for those looking to bet on the weekend’s game with Stoke, the Potters are in similarly good form, losing just one of their last five.

This is reflected in the betting with the Foxes billed as slight 13/8 favourites and Mark Hughes men given odds of 7/4 for the win.

The draw can be backed at 11/5 and while that result is a tempting option, here are James Curtis’ three best bets on the game.

Leonardo Ulloa to score first @ 11/2

Much to the ire of online Foxes fans, Ladbrokes News dubbed Ulloa the worst signing of the week when he made the switch from Brighton.

His start to the season saw those words eaten but a lean spell since has levelled the argument somewhat.

All that said the stats can’t be ignored. The Argentine has netted seven goals, with six of those opening the scoring so with Ulloa at home this has to be an option.

Draw and both teams to score @ 7/2

While both sides are enjoying a decent run at present Leicester’s home form in the league, and Stoke’s away form, leave a lot to be desired.

The Foxes have lost three of their last four at the King Power Stadium and Stoke have won just once in five on the road.

A draw then looks a fairly likely outcome but with the hosts scoring in five of their last six and the visitors netting in four of their last five at least it won’t be of the ’bore’ variety.

First half double chance – Leicester and draw @ 3/10

Odds-on prices aren’t everyone’s cup of tea but with Leicester playing at home and Stoke scoring just one first half goal in their last four games, this bet is approaching banker material.
