Crystal Palace v Everton: Eagles revival to continue in style

Published:

The upturn in form that can sometimes follow a new manager’s arrival has been clear for all to see at Selhurst Park and the good times look set to continue when Everton come to town.

The Eagles have won all four of their matches since Alan Pardew replaced Neil Warnock in the Palace dugout, while Roberto Martinez’s hapless Toffees are winless in eight games.

Despite this the hosts are priced as the 9/5 marginal underdogs for this clash, with the draw on at 23/10 and an Everton win available at 6/4.

And while the form suggests the odds on an Eagles victory are tempting here are three better-value bets to consider.

Palace to win and both teams to score @ 19/4

While it’s true that Palace have done nothing but win since “Pardiola” took the helm, they have conceded five goals in their last three games and haven’t kept a clean sheet at home in seven attempts.

The Toffees may be struggling for win but with they still know where the goal is, netting  in five of their last six matches.

Over 3.5 goals @ 5/2

As mentioned above, Palace are looking frail at the back, winning both their last two games despite conceding two goals.

And with the last two meetings between Palace and Everton, both in 2014, providing the same 3-2 scoreline, we could be in for another goalfest here.

Dwight Gayle to score first @ 6/1

With Yannick Bolasie still away on AFCON duty, Gayle looks the Eagles’ biggest threat with five Premier League goals to his name so far this season.

Four of those goals have opened the scoring and while Romelu Lukaku boasts better figures  – six goals and five openers – home advantage should give Gayle the edge.
