Copa del Rey treble: Sevilla and Villarreal on course for wins

| 28.01.2015

With the welcome spectre of the weekend fast approaching and a bumper schedule of Copa del Rey games on the cards, we’ve got a treble featuring all three of the fixtures set to be broadcast by Sky Sports this Thursday night.

Featuring wins for Villarreal and Sevilla as well as a rather logical looking draw between Malaga and hosts Athletic Bilbao, this particular tip pays out at odds of just over 29/2 with Ladbrokes.

Now that we’ve got your attention, read on to find out why this is one midweek tip you won’t want to miss out on.

Villarreal to beat Getafe @ 19/20

The Yellow Submarine sunk Getafe with a 1-0 victory at El Madrigal in the first leg and there is little suggest their forgotten Madrid hosts will fare any better on home soil.

Villarreal have won each of the previous three meetings between the teams and are in the midst of a 17-game unbeaten run, winning 12 of those encounters along the way. Getafe, by contrast, have won just two of their last eight matches.

Athletic Bilbao to draw with Malaga @ 9/4

These two teams must be sick of the sight of each other, while it’s likely that both sets of supporters are quickly becoming sick of football altogether.

Thursday’s encounter will be the third between the teams in the space of just nine days with the two previous encounters ending in draws and with both sides winning just one of their last six games respectively, another borefest looks highly likely.

Sevilla (-1) to beat Espanyol @ 29/20

The Andalusians had been faring well on all fronts until a shock 3-1 defeat to Barcelona’s other team but despite that setback, and a loss to high-flying Valencia over the weekend, it’s Sevilla who get the nod here having enjoyed some fine form at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán Stadium.

Los Rojiblancos are unbeaten on home soil this term, winning six of their last seven and keeping clean sheets in each of their previous five as hosts. Having beat Espanyol 4-1 on their last trip to the ground, another big win looks likely.
