Strictly: Caroline Flack odds-on to land the Glitterball trophy

Published:

I think it’s fair to say that this year’s edition of Strictly Come Dancing has brought our attention to a number of new heroes and heroines of the small screen.

That’s especially true when we look at the final four ahead of the show’s culmination with Caroline Flack, Frankie Bridge, Simon Webbe and Mark Wright

Of course, many of us were already familiar with their exploits before they strutted their stuff on Strictly.

But it’s in front of huge weekly audiences that these now household names have captured our imagination.

Former Xtra Factor presenter Caroline has particularly shone and now finds herself odds-on at 8/13 to land the Glitterball trophy.

And with both herself and Frankie dominating the market it’s also no surprise to see that Ladbrokes have made a female dancer to win the show a hideously short 1/10.

But as we’ve already discussed this week we’ve already witnessed a few shocks in series 12.

Simon has been plucky throughout and in surviving a head-to-head with former favourite Pixie Lott he’s already shown his staying power.

The former Blue singer is a 10/1 shot to cause what would be a huge surprise.

Likewise, Towie star Mark has also done well to make it this far.

By his own admission his whole journey has been a steep learning curve but we fully expect him to be all smiles, even if the value bet is the 10/11 on him to finish fourth.

Frankie is likely to represent Caroline’s biggest challenger and at 2/1 is well worth investing in, especially given that she’s the only remaining contestant to have avoided the dreaded dance-off.

Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said: “As the odds-on favourite it looks like Caroline’s already got one hand on the Glitterball trophy, but there’s a sense of de ja vúand punters are starting to smell an upset, like last year.”

Abbey Clancey was the victor on that occasion. Have the bookies got it wrong or is Caroline nailed on for victory?
