QPR v Burnley: Austin to the rescue for Redknapp once again

Published:

If we’ve said it once, we’ve said it a million times: QPR and Charlie Austin are a force to be reckoned with on their own patch in the Premier League and Burnley could be the latest team to suffer a rather unfortunate fate.

Rangers are 21/20 to win at Loftus Road this Saturday with their Lancashire opponents outsiders at 13/5 with Ladbrokes while the draw can be backed at 12/5 with the bookmaker.

But rather than bang the drum for a straight-up Rs victory, we’ve picked out three perfect bets to help you make the most of the action at hand.

QPR to score 2-3 goals @ 27/20

Harry Redknapp’s charges have certainly entertained the Loftus Road faithful of late, scoring 2-3 goals in each of their last five home outings in the Premier League and after holding Burnley to a 3-3 draw when these two met in the Championship in London last term this looks a safe bet.

Charlie Austin to score and QPR to win @ 12/5

On target in Rangers’ last win at home against Leicester City, Austin is certainly loving life in London and with QPR back on their own patch for this game against one of the divisions fellow strugglers, the 25-year-old looks all set to star again.

With five of Austin’s seven Premier League goals coming at home the 6/5 offered by Ladbrokes on a goal at anytime may tempt but with the former Poole Town star scoring in each of Rangers’ three top-flight wins this term, we reckon that if he does find the net it will be in a home victory.

Over 3.5 total goals to be scored @ 5/2

As previously mentioned, these two played out a 3-3 draw the last time they met in the Championship and while we are not expecting a goalfest of those proportions, four or more could well be on the cards at Loftus Road.

Four of their last five games at home have featured four goals or more and with both teams scoring in each of Burnley’s last three Premier League games, we could be in for a cracker here.
