Manchester United v Stoke: Van Persie to strike late on

Manchester United are favourites to secure a fourth successive win when Stoke travel to Old Trafford on Tuesday but the Red Devils will be made to work hard by the Potters.
United go into the tie at 4/9, with Mark Hughes’ side priced as 13/2 underdogs and the draw available at 7/2.
However, with the hosts prohibitively priced Ladbrokes News’ James Curtis has trawled through the 100+ markets available on the game to highlight three of the best.
Robin van Persie has failed to live up to his own high standards for much of the season so far but the Dutchman has still fired six goals in 16 games for club and country and netted a confidence-boosting screamer against Hull at the weekend.
Stoke could be the perfect team for RVP to build on such confidence, with the United striker scoring four in his last five meetings with the potters.
With United going into the game on the back of three wins and Stoke having won just one of their last six it is the hosts who look set to take all three points.
However, with Stoke expected to set up with defence in mind and United struggling to set the pace early on a goalless first half looks a solid bet.
United have gone in with a 0-0 score at half-time four times in the last five games suggesting this could be a great value pick.
With the Red Devils offering little value as outright winners it could pay to take the -1 handicap to push Louis van Gaal’s men into odds-against pricing.
United have won 12 of the last 14 meetings with the Potters and on eight of those occasions would have still been victorious despite the one-goal handicap.
With Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie among the goals – and Radamel Falcao fit again – United should be able to overcome this handicap with ease.
