League One accumulator: Table-topping Bristol City lead our 19/2 fourfold

Published:

There a few things less enjoyable in the Yuletide season than venturing out around town on the last weekend before Christmas, as desperate shoppers try and piece together their sack of presents.

If you are one of the unlucky members of that scavenging horde, a mid-afternoon pick-me-up will almost certainly be required, and what better way to buck up your spirits and refill your coffers than a juicy lower-league fourfold?

Here’s four League One bets that combine to provide tasty odds of 19/2.

Bristol City to beat Crewe Alexandra @ 7/10

As no-brainers go, backing the league leaders to beat the bottom-placed side is a solid bet in any division in the world.

The Robins have won their past four games in all competitions, while Christmas was just a distant speck on the horizon when Crewe last tasted victory back in October.

Swindon to beat Doncaster @ 5/6

It’s Robins all the way at the top of League One, with the Swindon branch of the flock breathing down Bristol City’s tailfeathers after winning their past four league matches in a row.

A fifth consecutive victory looks on the cards at home to 17th-place Doncaster, who have lost their past two matches in all competitions.

Yeovil to beat Colchester @ 21/20

With both sides currently lurking in the relegation zone, this might seem a tough match to call, but of the pair it’s home side Yeovil that have exhibited signs of life in recent weeks.

The Glovers have won three and lost just one of their past five in all competitions, including a thumping 4-0 win over Oldham in their last league outing.

Meanwhile Colchester have lost five straight matches in League One, conceding 15 goals in the process.

Over 2.5 goals in Bradford v Scunthorpe @ 4/5

These are two of League One’s in-form sides, making the match result tricky to predict, but one thing almost certain to be on the agenda is a boat-load of goals.

There have been over 2.5 goals in 11 of Scunthorpe’s past 13 league matches, while five of Bradford’s last seven have also soared above that mark.
