Ladbrokes going best price on selection of Kempton crackers

Published:

From 09.00 on Boxing Day, Ladbrokes won’t be beaten on price against Paddy Power, Bet365, Betfair, William Hill or Coral on a selection of likely sorts lining up in Kempton’s King George card.*

At 12.50, Willie Mullins’ Sempre Medici looks set to go off favourite ahead of Harry Fry’s Jollyallan after romping home by eight lengths in his first start for the County Carlow handler at Cork six weeks ago.

Paul Townend was on board then, but the Cork man has had to hop off for Ruby Walsh ahead of King George day, which bodes rather well for this top-price pick’s chances.

In the next race at 13.25, Tom George’s Stellar Notion, who has won three of his five races under rules, is currently half the price of joint-second favourites River Maigue and Knock House at 3/1, but you may be better off waiting for Ladbrokes’ offer to kick in before backing him.

Paul Nicholls’ Saphir Du Rheu gets the nod at 14.00 in the Kauto Star Novices’ Chase. At 11/10, the French-bred five-year-old looks just about the banker of the meeting in a race named after his trainer’s greatest servant.

The bookies have plumped for Nicholls’ Irving (currently 5/1) to put it up to Mullins hotpot Faugheen at 14.35, before the main event just after the football kicks off.

It’s the Ditcheat man versus Mullins at the head of the betting again for the King George VI Chase at 15.10, and Ladbrokes have plumped to best their competitors price about the latter’s Champagne Fever over jolly Silviniaco Conti.

They’re available right now at 3/1 and 9/4 respectively if you fancy.

Kempton’s last at 15.45 looks a competitive handicap, with David Pipe’s Alternatif the 5/2 favourite around about the middle of the weights, but the boost here goes to last-time-out winner Daveron, 6/1 at present, for Jeremy Scott.

Happy punting!
