Kammy’s Christmas Message: “I want to see England win something!”
Published:Another year is coming to a close and we’ve pretty much witnessed everything in the world of football over the past 12 months.
But putting all of the achievements (and misdemeanours) we’ve witnessed aside, Ladbrokes ambassador Kamara has only one triumph at the head of his wishlist.
Delivering his Christmas message to Ladbrokes News, Kammy said:
“My wish for 2015 and beyond is for the England national team to win something. We’ve had so many disappointments in the past.
“When I’m reporting I stay neutral and I want every single fan who’s watching me when I’m at a game to think I’m supporting their team and cheering them on.
“But as far as England are concerned – they’re my team.”
And having endured many false dawns in the past Kammy is hoping England can finally get it right and deliver a trophy.
Kammy added: “I’ve followed them [England] at every major tournament they’ve been involved in since the World Cup in Japan and South Korea in 2002.
“And I said to myself after the last World Cup I wouldn’t go anymore. I was working in the fan hubs for the Costa Rica game and I saw so many people who’d come out and spent big money for a game that meant nothing.
“I was trying to cheer everyone up with a few gags but afterwards I told myself I wasn’t going to put myself through this anymore.
“But time is a great healer and eventually I thought “sod that”, they’re my team.
“So, before I pop my clogs and before I stop working in TV, please God let England win something!”
“Just for once it’d be nice to go away to a tournament and be the last to leave.”
