I’m A Celebrity: Bullard’s bully-boy banter backfires

Published:

Jimmy Bullard has seen his odds to win I’m A Celebrity 2015 tumble after his “banter” with Jake Quickenden went a little too far.

The pair had been enjoying a jungle bromance until the weekend when Bullard, apparently joking questioned by the X Factor flop was even invited to be on the show.

Pointing to Carl Fogarty’s achievements, Bullard said “he’s a world champion, I was a professional at the top level of football and what have you done? I don’t even know why you’re in here you talentless pr*ck”.

Quickenden, however, was quick to point out that he has always questioned his invitation to take part and held his own by likening Bullard to Simpson’s character Mr Burns.

The pair have since made up and Bullard insisted it was only banter but the outburst has damaged his reputation with both his camp-mates and home viewers. As a result, Jake is now the favourite to win the show outright at 11/8 while Jimmy has moved to joint-second favouritism with Melanie Sykes at 7/1.

Ladbrokes’ Jessica Bridge said: “Jake’s certainly got the X Factor with punters, and it was a case of when and not if he would become the clear favourite to win following Jimmy’s bully-boy banter.”

At the other end of the jungle scale, however, is pint-sized rapper Tinchy Stryer, who is odds-on favourite to be the first celebrity to be eliminated from the camp.

With the Galahs team exempt from evictions Tinchy faces an uphill battle to remain in the show after finding himself up against fellow Wombats Foggy, Bullard and Sykes.

He may be odds-on but the 1/3 on Stryder leaving first should certainly appeal ahead of the first eviction night.
