Hull v West Brom: Tigers set to end winless run against Baggies

Published:

If the guy infamous for deciding the Match of the Day running order does any pre-planning, then it’s likely that he’s circled this game in red biro as one to shove towards the schedule’s nether regions.

Hull and West Brom occupy the two places directly above the relegation zone in the Premier League and are on identical losing streaks of four games.

Something is set to give at the KC Stadium though, with a Hull win and a few goals making up part of our three-pronged list of best bets for the contest:

Hull to win @ 13/10

The Tigers have enjoyed facing the Baggies since rejoining the Premier League, having gone unbeaten against the midlands side since taking their seat back at the country’s top table two seasons ago.

Steve Bruce’s men have won half of those four games, including the last time the pair met at the KC Stadium when Liam Rosenior and Shane Long bagged the goals in a 2-0 win.

Hull to score 2 or 3 goals @ 3/2

Not only have Hull gone unbeaten against West Brom in the top flight, but they also have a happy knack of scoring a fair share of goals against them too.

In five of the last six meetings with Alan Irvine’s clan in all competitions, the Tigers have bagged at least two goals. They haven’t scored that many in a run of five games in the top flight, so are due a glut too.

West Brom to score 0 or 1 goals @ 4/11

While Hull have had the best of the recent meetings, the Baggies’ sorry run of form is compounded by a lack of action infront of goal when on the road.

In their last 11 away games in the Premier League, the former top-flight yo-yoers have scored just five times and never more than once in match during that time.
