Hipster Tipster: Enjoy a Super Sunday with Lazio and Sevilla

Published:

This Sunday I’ll be laughing heartily from the comfort my Hipstee-Boy reclining chair, giddy in the knowledge that while Premier League fans will be tuning in to the so-called Midlands derby between Aston Villa and Leicester, I’m looking forward to some top European action.

But rather than gloat from behind my stein of over-priced East German wheat beer (it tastes like coins made in the Communist era) I’m willing to offer up some crumbs of support with five top European tips for punters to enjoy alongside the action.

Sevilla to beat Rayo Vallecano @ 6/5

Iago Aspas was best remembered from rubbish corners at Liverpool but with the on-loan Sevilla man scoring a four-minute hat-trick in midweek and still likely to be on the bench this Sunday, the Andalusians obviously mean business and they’ve won each of their last three against Vallecano.

Lazio to beat Parma @ 11/10

Bottom of Serie A after losing nine of their last 10, Parma are a shade of the side that once featured Faustino Asprilla and Gianfranco Zola – heady days indeed. And with Lazio winning 3-0 against Varese in the Coppa Italia this week, it’s difficult to look beyond the Rome club.

Hamburg to beat Mainz @ 11/10

The home of meat patties has also provided plenty of points for lowly Hamburg of late, with the hosts gunning for a third straight victory at the Imtech Arena and with Mainz winless in five and fresh from losing 4-1 away to Werder Bremen, it’s time to back the home side again.

Lille to beat Lens @ 21/20

Any side that can hold Zlatan’s PSG to a draw gets my vote and while Lille are struggling in Ligue 1 at present, recently-promoted Lens are far worse and currently sit second bottom having lost five of their last six going into this game – time to back the visitors.

Panathinaikos to beat Asteras Tripolis @ 31/20

This top-of-the-table clash in Greece pits third against fourth and while Asteras have home advantage on their side Panathinaikos have won three of their last four – including a victory over current league leaders PAOK and they beat Tripolis home and away last term.
