Strictly Come Dancing: No salvation for Simon in Halloween purge

Published:

Scott Mills is the big favourite to face the Strictly Come Dancing axe in week six, but the Radio 1 DJ can count on his army of listeners to help save his bacon.

Instead, we’re predicting a Halloween nightmare for Blue singer Simon Webbe, whose number could well be up following his second appearance in the bottom two in just three weeks.

There’s no doubt Mills lacks most of the essential components which make up a good ballroom dancer, but the public clearly want the 1/1 market leader for elimination to stay.

Alongside 7/2-shot Judy Murray, aka “Andy’s Mum”to her adoring fans, Mills has routinely returned the poorest scores from the judges but as yet has been saved from the dreaded dance off.

Rumour has it that Judy’s Halloween Special dance will see her dressed as Cruella de Vil for a spectacular American Smooth featuring a flying car and real-life dalmatians.

After such a show, surely the nation won’t be able to vote out everyone’s favourite sporting parent.

This all adds up to bad news for Webbe, who rates a terrific bet at 8/1 to follow Thom Evans out of the running for the glitter ball trophy.

It was an even split with rugby player Thom when it came down to the judges in week five, but now with even stiffer competition, Simon may not be so lucky.

Alison Hammond is by no means safe either at 8/1, having failed to impress the judges at all with her Tango last time out, which returned the third lowest score of the night.

All Odds and Markets are correct as of the date of publishing.
