Man United to benefit from Real Madrid’s Hazard pursuit

Published:

Not content with having one of the most star-laden squads in the land, Real Madrid are looking to add more big-names to their playing staff with a pursuit of Chelsea’s Eden Hazard.

Known to have designs on the Ballon d’Or award in the future, Hazard could follow the career path of Cristiano Ronaldo in order to realise those ambitions, with Los Blancos keen to help the Belgian along the way.

With such a talented squad to work with, however, any move for the Chelsea wizard would have to be offset with a departure as well which, it is being suggested, is where Manchester United come in.

Louis van Gaal is a known fan of Gareth Bale’s, with the Dutchman linked to a move for the Welshman on more than one occasion this season. However, now it seems his target has grown a smidgen more accessible, with the news that Madrid are willing to sell the winger in order to fund their pursuit of Hazard.

The La Liga giants are no strangers to cutting ties with their supposed stars, having let Angel Di Maria, Xabi Alonso and Mesut Ozil all go in recent times and it’s thought that a bid of £90m would send Bale through the exit door as well.

United fans, who can back their side to finish in the top four this term at 7/10 with Ladbrokes, are sure to scratch their heads at yet another link with a attacking player, but aren’t likely to complain if the Welshman ends up as Wayne Rooney, Di Maria and Robin van Persie’s teammate.

With the defence a far bigger concern, it would seem a move for Bale isn’t of the essence for the Red Devils just now. Unless, of course, they plan to return him to the left-back role that he started his career in.
